"The staff were friendly polite and very helpful, the hotel grounds were lovely and kept to a high standard, the dog day pen again was lovely although the gate floor catch was broken making the top catch difficult to open/close. We had a top floor room, where the shower runs by water pump if the temperature is above 25 the shower cuts out, we had to run it on cold until it built up enough pressure to turn temperature up, this took around 17 mins. "A nice hotel situated in the centre of Cockermouth. Lots of pubs and restaurants nearby, especially the steakhouse which is attached to the hotel. I can recommend this. Parking is in the council car park opposite for which there is a charge but it is very cheap. £6.60 for 24 hours. Inside the hotel is very old, (but nice) with low ceilings, crooked floors and exposed wooden beams. Stunning. "This was a business trip and the pub was the closest B&B, I found the staff fantastic always eager to help in anyway they could the owner of the pub was first class this coupled with great food and a good range of bears on draft made my stay excellent.
