"Our stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing and nowhere near the standard advertised. The first room we were given had a window that wouldn’t close, a stained blanket, and a dirty floor. "The location is fantastic — the hotel sits in a great spot, and the entrance is charming. Unfortunately, everything else about our stay was disappointing.
Due to a ferry cancellation, we had to book last-minute and arrived at the Royal Highland around 9pm. When we got to reception, no one was there, and there was no bell to alert staff. We waited at least ten minutes, during which time other employees walked past and saw us waiting but didn't acknowledge us or go find someone to help.

"This hotel is right across from Loch Ness. Main level is a gift shop and a small print shop, along with bathrooms for the bus groups that arrive for the Jacobite Boat tours, so it does get very busy during the day. Check-in along with the rooms are on the second level and there is a lift. The bar/restaurant are across from the front desk, with large windows over looking Loch Ness. The dinner menu is awesome and so are the breakfast's. Inverness is only 15-20 min up the road way and is a nice...

"Fine for a few nights but very basic, no frills, which is what Premier inns are about apparently, I just didn’t know this.
My room was an accessible room for whatever reason, so I had handrails in the hospital style shower, emergency buttons everywhere, which is great if you need it, but weird for me.
Bed was a bit too soft and not supportive for me. Wifi was terrible, I purchased the ‘premium’ wifi (£6 for 24hrs) which was ok but not great.

"Our room was large, comfortable, and clean. The bed and pillows were comfy. Our room was on the third floor (no lift), but Andy grabbed two bags and helped us up. He was amazing on the desk and in the restaurant. Our meals were delicious. The provided breakfast was hot and made to order.
Pete runs a nice, older, family-run inn and we would definitely stay again."
