"Immaculately presented room and hotel in the town centre, staff very friendly"

"Friendly pub with rooms. Our room faced the village road, but was not especially noisy. The village was quite remote, but convenient for us to continue our trip into north Devon. Our room was a reasonable size with everything we needed for an overnight stay. We had booked dinner in the pub - and although our booking got forgotten, we were able to eat there at the time we had originally booked. Breakfast & dinner were good."

"This hotel does not have staff as you do a self check in so it is not possible to rate this part of the survey. The hotel offers no amenities, however there is a kettle and tea/coffee provided . The room was perfectly fine for one night. Comfortable and clean although needs updating and there was a bleach stain on the carpet. The room was unbearably hot. A fan was provided but it was not affective in the size of the room so maybe worth the hotel provided a second fan. Other than that not a bad...

"Stayed for 4 nights in a while, in one of the smaller double rooms (6). Clean & tidy albeit a bit quirky in a building 300 years old or so. Pleasant hosts Chris & Sue plus other staff with good range of breakfast options tried, always well cooked. Only slight blemish was a crack in the on-suite sink & toilet seat sloppy. Other than that all very good, including improved parking to rear in designated area."

Apart from the barman, the owners completely ignored us on arrival while huddled around a table with their backs to us. We had travelled over 200 miles to get there, having booked many weeks ago and paid for They left us standing there for over 40 minutes with no explanation as to why we were still waiting for the key to our room. "The property as a whole was in poor condition and was not clean. The food was not very nice. It appeared to be from a food service company, just thawed, cooked and served. It is clear that the premises had not been subjected to a health and safety impact assessment. For example, the showers were in the bath and no non-slip mats were provided.
