"Great budget hotel near the JR station. Checked in and out using the kiosks. Rooms are small, but easily accommodated 3. There's a connected 7-11. There was an unexpected city tax (200 yen a night I think?), but maybe it was stated and I don't see it. Overall a good choice if you're on a budget and will be spending a lot of time outside."

"I loved my stay at Comfort Hotel. The room was very spacious and it was so affordable. My room faced the train station but I didn't hear any of the trains coming or going. This hotel offered free snacks and breverages at the huge lounge downstairs. Wonderful after a day of sightseeing around Kyoto. They also offer a free lending library. So unique. I loved the location too. This hotel is right across the street from the Toji Station. Very convient if you want to go to Nara Park or Arashiyama district. There's a great grocery store right down the street as well as the To-ji Temple. I loved everything about this hotel and will definitely come back to it again if I ever go back to Kyoto. It is by far the best hotel out of the 4 hotels that I stayed at in Japan."

"Had a wonderful stay - in fact probably the best hotel we stayed at in Japan. Room was extremely spacious, they serviced our room everyday we were there as well. Huge bonus that they have a coffee/tea juice bar running all day, and a free alcoholic drink for every night of of our stay ;) would definitely come back if we’re ever in Kyoto again. "
