"This hotel is a fantastic dog friendly hotel. The staff gave us and our dog such a warm welcome and were so helpful, friendly and hard working. It was wonderful that we could take our dog into the restaurant and had waitress service in the bar area for breakfast with our dog. The hotel is so conveniently close to the motorway but so quiet, really good for breaking the journey to or from the Scottish Highlands, we highly recommend especially to dog owners."

"A nice hotel situated in the centre of Cockermouth. Lots of pubs and restaurants nearby, especially the steakhouse which is attached to the hotel. I can recommend this. Parking is in the council car park opposite for which there is a charge but it is very cheap. £6.60 for 24 hours. Inside the hotel is very old, (but nice) with low ceilings, crooked floors and exposed wooden beams. Stunning. "This was a business trip and the pub was the closest B&B, I found the staff fantastic always eager to help in anyway they could the owner of the pub was first class this coupled with great food and a good range of bears on draft made my stay excellent.
