"Die Dame an der Rezeption war sehr unhöflich. Auf unsere Nachfrage, ob wir früher frühstücken können, da wir das ja mitgebucht hatten, da wir zur Fähre mussten, wurde nicht eingegangen. Morgens beim Auschecken saßen aber schon Leute beim Essen. Das hätte man uns auch mal sagen können. Hotel sieht von außen wie ein Horrorhaus aus, von innen geht es. Unser Zimmer war eisig und alt. Für eine Nacht ging es."

"Wonderful staff!"

"Best place to stay on Orkney, we did a 4night stay with breakfast and dinner every day, it was amazing specially with the hospitality of Suzanne! 10 out of 10"

"We were very lucky because both times we parked at the hotel, we got one of the 2 slots in front of the hotel, so we didn't have to try and find the additional parking lot, but the staff did give us a map to find it. Keep in mind that there is no lift, so depending on your floor you need to carry your bags up. The 23kg bag was not much fun to take up and then down 2 flights of stairs. The food for breakfast was very good whether the cereal/yogurt/fruit or the from the menu. The staff in the...

"We were very pleasantly surprised to learn our 1 room family suite had 2 separate bedrooms. Beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was nice. Only issues were that we only had 1 key which made it tricky every time we went separate places. Also there was an illuminated exit sign in the king bedroom we had to cover up it was so bright, and when others shut their doors it would thump ours. Loved the skylights, was a bit stuffy but those helped. Loved the breakfast!"

"Comfortable rooms, great breakfasts"

"Friendly, clean and conveniently located. Breakfast was great and the owners were incredibly helpful. Really enjoyed my stay."

"What a lovely stay! Albert and Aileen run a beautiful B&B - spotless, quiet, and so conveniently located. Albert was very helpful, offering to answer any questions even after we checked out. We also got to meet their dog which was very welcome after nearly two weeks away from our own. I’m not usually a B&B person but I would definitely stay again. And I would wholeheartedly encourage anyone to give it a try."

"Property was as expected. Very convenient for our 3 day stay."

"Great spot, lovely accommodation along with very pleasant and helpful owners "

"Absolutely amazing location, and great host. All the appliances worked (and we cooked frequently in the kitchen that offered space enough for 2 to be comfortable). The bedrooms at the top of the stairs were compact but had a table and chair in each, for those who need laptop or writing space. The living room was cozy. (The toilet was a bit loud, but nothing egregious.) The LOCATION was fantastic. I was concerned that possibly there would be noise from the harbor across the street…nothing....

"WHAT A FIND! When I was first looking for somewhere to stay in Stromness I have to admit that I was quite disappointed not to be able to find anywhere overlooking the harbour. Then I saw 'Withy Gill' listed on the website and booked for a 4 night stay in August. Having now had our holiday and wandered round Orkney and Stromness, how glad am I that I found it ! Simon the host contacted us a few times before our trip and always responded to any queries we had. The cottage itself is great,...

"The house was lovely but the heating did not work and the bedding was thin. This led to us having a very cold sleepless night. Such a shame as it was a lovely house in a fantastic location. Spoilt our stay."

"Very close to ferry’s and bars and restaurants "
