"On arrival we were allocated a basement room which we immediately rejected , staff were helpful and gave us room 217 , l can only describe the room as grim . The shower was over the bath , the windows were dirty , the toilet was also unclean and the place looked like it hadn’t been decorated in years . Room we stayed in was a box room, absolutely tiny, and the toilet/shower room was not a full arms width from side to side, and for a big lad that was most uncomfortable.
The window in our room opened about an inch then fell back closed again, so no air was able to get in or out of a stiflingly hot room.
We noticed other rooms did have windows that opened a lot, note to self!!!

"I chose this hotel as it had a lift and car parking facilities. Unfortunately although I was on the first floor my room was on the opposite side of the landing which meant out of the lift I had to go down 6 steps then up 6 steps which was very difficult especially carrying suitcases, hence although difficult for me it was actually easier just to walk up and down the stairs .

"Lovely clean hotel with excellent views. Staff were very welcoming and allowed us to have our room earlier which we were very grateful for after the journey to get there. What was also very umpressive was the amount of free coffee and tea available in the room."

No hair dryer in room as advertised and some masking tape round one of the door frames which showed signs of recent re decoration. "The room was very clean and Sue, the host, went out of her way to accommodate us regarding parking. Breakfast was superb and very plentiful, you could even ask for more if needed. All the staff at breakfast were very polite and helpful and couldn't do enough for you."
