"We absolutely loved our stay here. The best part other than our awesome view was the shower! I loved the water pressure. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. It was a 12 minute walk from Oita Station, and there was a Lawson around the corner. We also got free breakfast at the hotel and it was delicious. The room was spacious but the balcony was the star of the room. Would definitely stay here again."

"This hotel is a step next to the shopping street which is very easy to dining and shopping. The room is small and we accepted for low price per night. They refurnished their lobby in a modern and hip design, and put a lot of instant drinks of coffee, green tea latte, chocolate etc in the lobby for guests to try which is a surprise. But their rooms did not refurnish and are still in old style, especially their TV signals are very bad, only a few channels can be watched, the Hotel AreaOne...

"This is a new hotel with many nice modern features. It is adjacent to Aso train terminal. Staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a local farmers market and Lawson close by within easy walking distance. Very pleased with our stay here!"

I definitely like that we need to take our shoes off at the entrance and the entire hotel is covered in tatami mats! My only issue is that this hotel is used by a lot of foreign tour groups who may not be the most polite people. We had lots of people push in queues for food or drinks, not clean properly before getting in the onsen, etc. so beware of...

"Everything was poor. For Japanese standar I felt like staff was tired or not happy doing their job. Checking time was 4 P.M. while in other hotels was 3 P.M. I arrived at 3:10 and they did not let me in. A lady was going to give the key but a young man told her that was not the time for checking in. I saw other people registering before 4 and letting them in, so I felt disappointed. The room was very small."

"Hotel is clean with beautiful landscape. Reception staff was patience despite the language barrier. They managed to help our friends change to a non smoking floor as the floor they were originally assigned smell of smoke from guests smoking from ground floor. The buffet dinner was great, with free flow of beer, soju and wine. Desserts was excellent. Onsen was great too though the bath house looks a bit run down. But it was clean. Lots of parking space for those who drive. The only downside is...

"The hotel itself is a bit old and average, but you get access to the facilities in the nicer Amanek hotel next door, including the bath, rooftop pool, and a good breakfast. The water in the public bath was not very hot."
