"The room was old and stinky, outdated furniture and everything practically worn out. Had to use the towels to cover the chair. Appeared not have been cleaned for ages. The breakfast is always nice. It would have been better if the room was cleaned and renewed. I prefer to sleep in a room that is 10/10 and food 5/10. Book as a last resort."
"It would be great if the car park was marked out better for all. We were on the 3rd floor and there was a tree growing out the window sill. Shaver point too high no where to rest shaver/ electric toothbrush. Windows filthy. T V too high. Soap dispenser too close to where you are showering."

"Recently refurbished, rooms were clean and fresh and kept the original features of the property. Bathroom was lovely and bath a great size although did miss the option of grabbing a quick shower. Bathroom needs a blind or curtain please otherwise stunning room."
"Only stayed for 1 night. We got to the property late and we self checked in, we were left forms for breakfast and filled them in.
Beds were comfortable, owners were lovely and breakfast great. All around good stay!"
"Stayed with my son overnight on our trip to climb Helwellyn. Did the climb prior to checking in, as check in was from 3pm. Asked in advance if we could use the car park upon our arrival in the morning & it was no problem.
Once we checked in, the room was good with a modern ensuite, ironing board, hair-dryer and coffee facilities. All the staff were friendly with a nicely stocked bar and it was fine to book a table for our evening meal. The menu had a good choice of meat and vegetarian options....

Comment not a criticism. We struggled with the stairs. Could use a cobweb brush.
