"The bathroom was in a poor start of repair. The side bath panel was water damaged and obviously been treated and then left Showing further damage and falling apart.
The bathroom mirror required changing with various black marks across it.
The thermostatic controls were really stiff and couldn’t be fully used for both hot and cold. The markings for hot and cold faded and difficult to establish which way to turn.
The bath had various stains around the plug hole and bath and certainly...
"Bathroom very much below standard. No lock on door, towel rail disconnected, toilet hard to flush. Shower curtain annoying.
Bedroom windows so old they didn’t shut. Needs net curtain for privacy.
Lots of cobwebs need addressing !"
"Nice little hotel.
Very friendly desk clerk. Quite efficient and helpful.
Very complicated series of doorways to get through to get in and out of the hotel and to rooms inside the hotel.
Also quite hazardous stairs if you are above the first floor. Forget about the top floor if you are not young and nibble!
Parking is convenient but minimal. Can get blocked in by later arrivals.
Reception hours are minimal as well. Although it does state this on the hotel info page.
Restaurant has ok food....
"Very nice place to stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. Food was excellent.
It is in a good location for the centre town easily walkable.
There is no parking but was able to drop the bags off. Car park nearby and reasonably priced (5minute walk back).
Would definitely stay there again."
"This property is absolutely unique, a 15th century building restored and updated in a charming way. The staff are all wonderfully friendly and helpful. Our bedroom was spacious, comfortable and the bathroom is luxurious! Thank you for the loveliest stay of our holiday."
"My favourite East Anglian hotel - recently refurbished, just as friendly and welcoming. As usual there were all sorts here, it's a proper 'local' - good food, good beer, good cheer! Lots of interesting opinions - all topical issues covered and easily overheard. The bar has two tellies now, and I enjoyed watching the end of an ODI (Sri Lanka won), and then some Happy Valley with mein hosts.
I thoroughly recommend anyone to stay here (as long as you can do stairs), it's reasonably priced, the...
