"Lovely hotel in a great location. Right across the road from the station. Tram stops nearby, short walk in to town. Hotel is pleasant enough and suitable for my needs. Bed was comfortable, shower has good pressure and hot. Breakfast was decent with enough choice. Wouldn't hesitate to go back."

"Ideally located if arriving by car and close to the main area. It was an easy short walk to get to the main square. The rooms are a decent size, nicely presented and clean. The bar area is also well presented and has a nice feel. Some of the staff were friendly and helpful. However, there were a couple of members of staff who were a bit abrupt in my opinion. "It was further away from the centre than we thought, our mistake. Imagine a rather rundown motel room desperately in need of an upgrade! It was very bijou but had everything we needed for a short stay: comfortable bed, a kettle and complimentary tea and coffee, a clean bathroom. We were only staying to do a quick sightseeing of the area before moving on, so we didn't need much!"

Staff were super helpful and it has a small modern restaurant area offering a limited evening meal menu. Portions were generous and it was excellent value. The buffet breakfast choice was huge and all of it good quality - including a few things normally associated with 'full english' in recognition that it's just 60 miles from Calais and a lot...

"I’m not going to winge about this place as its location is excellent and it’s cheap so it’s fine for a night. Not sure l’d want to spend a week here but a couple of nights would be fine if they fixed the shower. Cheap and cheerful…..just like me 🤗"
