"The hotel is very well located for all of Yorks attraction and city centre. The staff great, the room nice and big, nice clean bathroom. The shower was weak and the sink occasional had a strong drain smell but this is the only negative. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice and regularly replenished. "Only issue. On the night of the 12th the front door was closed. I got back to the hotel at 00:15. I pressed the buzzer for nearly 45 minutes with no answer. I even went to the grand to ask if they had a contact number, which they didn't. I was just about to find an alternative hotel when another guest opened the door for a cigarette. "Excellent position for train station and situated right next to Hull Truck company theatre. Staff very helpful and friendly. Good breakfast included. "

"It's a lovely hotel, great staff, nice rooms, and a good location. Breakfasts were good. Our only issue was the stairs. There is no lift in the hotel. Staff carried our luggage up when we checked in and brought it down when we checked out which was greatly appreciated, but if someone has mobility issues, the stairs are a challenge."

"Little bit of confusion at check in which was quickly and easily sorted out by the staff. Apparently hotels.com and the hotel aren’t compatible when booking so I’d call ahead if you are staying here to cover any issues before you arrive. Either way, we got a room that we were expecting and breakfast. Room was large and comfortable, very clean."

"Everything was very good. However having to go downstairs for milk when you expect some milk in the room and only have to go down for extras. The hotel staff and stay was excellent. Do be aware that the carpark is private and costs a lot! This will stop me staying next time "
