"It is a good hotel ideally situated to see the cathedral and walk into the centre of Lincoln. Lovely staff. Lots of restaurants close by. Parking available although you have to pay even though you’re a guest! Recommended"

"Room was in general lovely and clean however, there had been something splashed up the wall next to the bed which needed a good wipe! Location was great for what I needed and onsite pub handy. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Nice and easy check-in and out. Food in pub was good."

During the period that access was unavailable to us, a neighbour told us that the Hamilton was used to house council-sent people, and we saw three such unfortunate people waiting to enter. "The code for the wasn’t sent to me, but a phone call fixed that. There are no staff so everything is done by phone or message. Car park is nearby and reasonable. The room was fine with a good shower although it smelt as if someone had been smoking on the landing (not the room) Breakfast is very basic, toast, yoghurt Nescafé and cereals. But that was ok. It’s fine for two nights but I wouldn’t have wanted to stay for a lot longer. Good value overall if basic. "
