"I was upgraded to the main building. My room was beautiful, huge and clean. The hotel has lots of things to do, spa, gym, pool... Very nice. Breakfast was delicious with a huge variety. Location is perfect, just 15 min walk to the old town. Totally recommend this hotel"

"We have stayed at Kastel 1700 before. Its location is amazing right on the Riva with good sea views. The staff are extremely helpful, kind and friendly and speak very good English. It is a comfortable hotel, with all modern facilities built into the walls of the old city around Diocletian's Palace. The breakfast is also very good. I would recommend Kastel 1700."

"The ceiling on master bed was leaking sewage water on the 2nd day. The staff couldn’t do anything but giving us another spare room. However that room was having obnoxious smell. The staff confirmed the smell was from the sewage drain. Overall it’s a bad experience, but staff was friendly even though not helpful "

"So glad we found this place. Stayed at a total of 6 hotels during recent European trip and this, by far, was the best. The staff was as accommodating as any St Regis or the likes. While the rooms are small, you are inside the walls in the palace, beautifully appointed and very comfortable beds etc. "
