"Some corners of the bathroom needed more thorough cleaning, but generally OK. Excellent service from the restaurant staff. Plenty of choice of breakfast, and of good quality. A major attraction is the large free car park with easy access, and a short walk to the town centre. Highly recommended."

Otherwise, this hotel desperately needs some investment. It wasn't cheap staying here for one night and what we got was a noisy room stuck in the 90s, The property smelled like an old folk's home. Stains on the carpets both in the room and common areas and furnishings were worn out. It just wasn't the best stay.

"The Old Swan is a beautiful old world hotel from the bygone days when they knew how to do it. Staff were well presented and helpful. The bar extremely comfortable. The room clean and warm. It's close to the centre of Harrogate, where there are plenty of restaurants and bars, though the food in the hotel is excellent. Plenty of parking. It's always an enjoyable stay, which is why I return again and again."

"A two night stay for 10 people in 5 rooms in this beautiful well cared for period building. The staff were fantastic in dealing with a larger group and especially with our Gluten Free member. An open kitchen meant you could watch food being freshly prepared in the Seasons restaurant and chat with the Chefs.. Plenty of room both inside and out to relax with drinks, tea & coffee and scones or full Afternoon Teas. An easy access nature path within the grounds kept us occupied on one day with staff...
"Truthfully, it feels the owners do not C A R E. Either they are selling it, or actually believe this hotel is up to standard. Not worth the price you pay for a night.
Pros:
- front desk staff are really nice and helpful
- we had hot water unlike some other guests
- perfect location
- gorgeous exterior
Cons:
- tired, old and run down rooms
- rooms smell moldy, carpets are stained, bathrooms are ancient
- beds are OK, enough to get you by
- no breakfast btw lol they throw some cereal...
