"Staff were very efficient and friendly. I have disability, someone had parked across the space outside and I let reception know. The disabled spaces need repainting as they are very worn. Bar staff very good, we didn't use restaurant. Lovely bathroom. Bed comfortable. Wardrobe doors creaked very badly, maybe some WD40 on the hinges would help! Good view. Lovely hotel and we enjoyed our stay and will be returning.Very happy with our short break here at the Royal."

"Had 2 rooms booked for 2 nights Reception were helpful on checking in but the rooms were in separate buildings which was annoying for us and both on second floor so difficult with luggage on steep stairs. The double room had no TV remote and the soap by the hand basin didn’t work . They fixed it the next day but these should be checked prior to arrival ! Breakfast was self serve The coffe wasn’t good and wasn’t that hot either and the Toast machine was set too high so it was virtually...

"We booked about an hour before we were due to arrive and everything was excellent with our room. Considering the price the rooms are set up with anything you might need (even including a bottle opener!) We were welcomed by very helpful staff."

"The pub itself and the breakfast were great but the room i had smelled damp and needed some love! The bed was very old with person shape dents in the mattress The owner came out immediately to fix a light but as he couldn't reassure me that the other rooms were any better I left after one night of no sleep."

"Room was clean beds were comfortable shower which was a wet room for was excellent very easy for my wife to use Bad point was the complete lack of plugs anywhere near the beds meaning I had to get out of bed and cross the room to turn my alarm off. We also had the breakfast which wasn't very good burnt bacon and unhelpful staff when trying to order a drink as they didn't seem to want to make a coffee from the machine instead directing me to the mostly cold offerings on the continental breakfast...

"A relatively new hotel with very comfortable room and bathroom. AC provision especially great during heat waves. The restaurant is excellent and the food is beautifully cooked and presented. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Area around the hotel is a bit rundown but with a car there are plenty of lovely places to visit in Somerset and Devon. Would recommend staying at this hotel."
