"This should be a marquee hotel with its history and design. But it's a very tired property being sweated by owners for the last bit of value. Hotel's business is mainly coach parties, so the few rack-rate customers like us feel marginalised. Seriously understaffed to serve and clean up after 3 coach parties at breakfast. Cleaning of the public areas is skimpy. Maintenance likewise.
Barely adequate overall for £140/night at end of Sept. For the record, I think I should have spent a little...
"Nothing to dislike....Clean room...very clean bathroom & towels .. great food & Very helpful staff...shall certainly stay again... would recommend to anyone"
"This is a beautiful hotel overlooking the stunning Loch Ness. Very comfortable room and the food was wonderful!! The breakfast was one of the best on our trip to Scotland!"
"The bunk room was very clean and spacious and the kitchen excellent, although could not find cutlery. Bring esr plugs incase, like me, you end up sharing with a snorer."
"Confusing checkin. Building was covered with scaffolding so we could not find it. Directions to get into the building were confusing and took going through numerous emails to finally figure things out. Two other guests were equally confused so it wasn't just us. Window in the bathroom would not close or open. Parking was a nightmare as "ignoring the no overnight parking" sign is difficult advice to follow for rule following Canadians!"
"Alles war perfekt! Das Zimmer war groß und gemütlich eingerichtet. Auch das Restaurant und die Lounge sind mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet worden. Wir haben dort zu Abend gegessen hen gefrühstückt und können das nur jedem empfehlen! Das Personal war überaus freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden definitiv wieder kommen."
"A little tricky to check in, but the staff at the cafe next door were able to help us. The room was very cute and comfy! Parking was also convenient for an overnight stay."
"First off, this is not a hotel, it's lots of apartments.
There are no onsite Highland Club restaurants, room service food or anything like it.
The apartments are full on, proper homes with kitchens so bring some food, even if it's just basic stuff. For food shopping and eateries you can walk into the town in a few minutes and get something to eat. The pub (The Lock Inn) was pretty good. There is a restaurant in the grounds of the house which provided food which was edible but you wouldn't...
