"Our small family and friends group had such a lovely stay at this small country house style hotel. The stay was absolutely excellent value and suited our needs for a welcome dinner and bed and breakfast stop, as part of a Ridgeway walking holiday. We had two executive double rooms, they were very spacious and one had a comfy sofabed. Lovely crisp white bedding and towels. Rooms were well equipped and had everything we needed (tea/coffee making, iron, hairdryer etc.). There were no mini toiletries in bathrooms, which was fine for us as I think there is often a lot is plastic wastage from these. A couple of areas of the hotel could do with some updating in the near future, including the courtyard garden, as a spruce up would make it more enjoyable to sit in. Some of the external paintwork on the accomodation area e.g. window sills could do with painting/repair. However, the main building is beautiful, and everything internally was clean, pleasant and comfortable. The restaurant had very good service, a good menu of tasty options, and quite a reasonably priced wine list. I would recommend this hotel as a great option for lots of different types of guests. "
