"We visit Durham at least once a month & try to stay at the same place all the time however we stayed here on this occasion, as usual place appeared to be closed. Very nice room & clean. Only issue I had was pillows weren’t very comfortable & the noise of a drill going in room next door just after 9am on day of departure, was a bit of a shock. We Would stay again though. "

"Warm welcome, we had a ground floor room so the view from the window was just trees however not offensive. The room was spotless, and had the usual tea/coffee supply, an iron and ironing board,tv and hairdryer Very comfy bed and an overall great experience Thank you ! "

"We stayed here the night before a very early flight from the airport. The hotel is a little older than some but it is clean and very comfortable It has fabulous facilities in the way of bars and lounges and food to purchase. It was the perfect place to stay before flying out the next day. "

"We stayed one night at the Holiday Inn Express on 9May2024. From the time of our arrival to departure the staff were welcoming, helpful and efficient. The room was comfortable, clean and had all the essentials. We will definitely consider staying there again if we are in the Newcastle area"

"I was very happy with my stay. I was here for a run. I had a nice meal which was needed. I was particularly impressed at guest laundry at no extra cost. The staff were friendly and helpful. I asked for a small extension to my check out time and this was not a problem. This was extremely helpful as it enabled me to change after my run. I would definitely stay here again"

"Brilliant customer service. We got checked in early as our room was available. Nice rooms. Usb port by the bedside. TV with usual channels on. Couldn't find a way to sign into you tube. Beds were like two mattresses together and bed was on wheels. Altogether a nice hotel. Would stay again short taxi to city around £6"

"Staff were brilliant throughout from the reception/bar and breakfast service. Rooms were spacious and they read the notes about me using crutches and gave me accessible room"

"Stayed for 2 nights and could not fault the room and the breakfast was really good. However we decided to order a snack from the menu one evening. I ordered a sandwich, the menu stated fresh bloomer bread, brown or white, tuna, spring onion, mayonnaise and black pepper. When I received this it was 2 thin slices of 50/50 bread, no spring onion and the thinnest filling of tuna, more like spread. The charge for this was £8.00!! Definitely not worth the cost."
