"If you need a rest between travelling through the big cities of Italy, Hotel Sovestro is the place you need to try. A quiet and well maintained hotel set among its own vineyards and olive orchards, Hotel Sovestro is a must visit. The hotel is nestled in the hills below San Gimmignano, a 30 minute walk to this medieval town with incredible views of the Tuscan country. The hotel also has a Michelin rated restaurant with incredible food. Ensure you try their own wine - its incredible."
"This hotel was right in the main square, which was nice, and it was the only one of 5 that we stayed in on this trip that included breakfast, which was very nice, but the room felt dated. I mean, the town IS from the 13th century, so gees, what can I expect, but I expected the room to be a little nicer. I have a feeling we got a lesser room because we booked through Expedia, because I saw a few other rooms in my brother's travel group who booked directly with the hotel and theirs were much...
"Great Family run hotel with friendly staff.
Perfectly located to explore Tuscany.. we visited Sienna, Certaldo, Volterra, Sam Gimignano and Livorno on the coast.
There is a walkable (5mins) winery called Il Colombaio which I would highly recommended.
The breakfast buffet was fabulous."
"Camera singola spaziosa, prezzo concorrenziale, personale gentilissimo alla reception e anche simpaticissimo in sala colazione. La sala colazione è in una terrazza con una vista incredibile, il modo perfetto per iniziare la giornata! Ottima colazione a buffet, molto varia. Grande parcheggio privato a disposizione, nessun problema per parcheggiare. Insomma tutto super!!! Grazie ancora!!"
"Niemand aanwezig bij aankomst, sleutel lag met een brief waar je naam op stond op de desk.
Het was schoon, maar de bedden waren vreselijk.
De veren staken in je kont.
Ontbijt was minimaal."
"The hotel was great - not a five star but for the price it was excelent value. The old style building and decor were lovely and it felt like an authentice Italian hotel - much better than the often 'faceless' hotel chains. Bellisimo!"
"Our stay here was very lovely and we’d certainly return. The welcome and staff were all so happy and kind. Breakfast was great, views spectacular too. Location in San Gimignano favorable. We had a room with a terrace which was very nice with beautiful views. All amenities were great."
"Alessandro met us upon arrival, what a lovely man. Our room was 2 floors with bed and bath upstairs. Plenty of room to relax and drink some wine. The larger hotel next door served an incredible dinner, one of the best we've had over a month in all of Italy! Breakfast was included and offered a good variety for all tastes. Highly recommend and is close to the train station for easy of travel into Florence without Florence hotel prices. We would definitely return."
"Pros:
Location
Cleanness
Good and friendly staff
Cons:
Low quality mattress. Did not feel relaxed laying on that mattress after long walks.
Shower's hot water was warm 14 seconds then cold for 9 second and warm 14 seconds and so on."
"Clean Rooms however there was no iron, no kettle to make coffee/tea the other hotels we stayed in had those amenities, The front desk was helpful but the ladies at the breakfast station were not, I guess that was because we were Americans mind you it was 8 of us and I saw personally how they treated their own people and refused to give us a cappuccino.
I enjoyed their Beautiful country of Italy but when I pay my money I expect good service."
"The property is in a great location and the rooms are excellent. Staff is always friendly and helpful. This is our second time staying here and both experiences were wonderful."
"Really nice room and balcony! Only issue was that the double bed was two singles together so there was a gap in between the two which wasn’t the most comfortable"
"An Incredible Stay in the Heart of Tuscany!
Our stay at Villa Rioddi was absolutely wonderful from the moment we arrived! The welcome was exceptional, and the staff took the time to explain the best things to do in Tuscany and Volterra, with fantastic recommendations and clear directions. They even explained exactly where to park, and the free, secure parking included with our stay was a huge plus.
Everything we asked for was handled promptly and with genuine kindness. The breakfast was...
