"The Hotel Ermitage was great in every way. The hotel staff was exceptional. Everyone was incredibly pleasant, personable, and helpful. The quality of the accommodations was excellent; clean and well attended. The hotel is conveniently located across the street from the Oeschinensee Gondola and within walking distance of the town center. Very peaceful. Overall, it was a great experience."
"Since the Schilthorn corp. bought this property it is being run as an afterthought. Front desk closed, no communication with guests before arrival as to how to gain access to room, they left an envelope with key card that didn’t work, had to wait for someone from sister hotel to walk over and fix. No breakfast here, had to walk to sister hotel for that and restaurant closed during our stay. Better to book elsewhere"
"The room was large and comfortable. The only downside was the next door guest smoked on the balcony so we had to close our window and miss the fresh air. That’s okay; it is close to train so noisy but very quiet with windows closed. Comfortabl bed. The location was steps from train! So convenient. The breakfast was the highlight!!! Full, fresh, homemade breakfast: eggs, bacon, veg, yogurt, overnight oats, juices, breads, jams, etc. very good."

"We finally found a hotel in Switzerland with air conditioning...it was very much needed after a long day of hiking. All of the staff we had contact with were exceptionally friendly. The hotel is very well located in a lovely pedestrian only part of town surrounded by great restaurants, easy walk from the train station. We loved the view from our balcony. The honesty bar was an added bonus and breakfast was the best we had in Switzerland. I would go out of my way to stay in this hotel again."
"This hotel is on one end of the several blocks long high mountain village of Murren. To get to the village from Lauterbrunnen it is most convenient to use the postbus and then the aerial cableway that continues on to the Piz Gloria. Travel one stop to Murren on this large safe aerial car. The Alpenrue hotel is next to the station. There. Is very little noise from the cableway and none at night.

"We couldn't have found a better fit for our family of 3 on our visit to Switzerland. Bruna at the front desk was truly the most amazing hostess to check us in, give us clarity on parking in town, share courtesy tram passes and remind us how good the breakfast is in the kitchen nook! Her personality and smile was out of this world!!!
We did dinner in the restaurant also and it too was amazing! The fresh squeezed orange juice machine blew my mind and made the courtesy breakfast that much more...
