"Checked okay parking was close, the lift was out of order so walked to room not really a problem, but staff member sent me me on a 10min walk around the hotel with their instructions on how to get to the room, I later discovered a much quicker way using an alternative staircase, room was clean and well maintained. WiFi not the best but definitely useable. I cannot comment on food as I didn't eat in the hotel but there are some nice restaurants nearby."
"**Disappointing stay, particularly for an elderly guest**
We booked a two\-night stay based on the hotel’s excellent 8\.8 rating on Expedia, but unfortunately our experience fell well short of expectations\.
On arrival, reception was unattended and our keys had been left on the desk. Staffing was extremely limited, the dining room was cold and we had to eat in the adjoining pub instead. The bedrooms and bathrooms were also very cold, with the hotel heating switched off despite the cold...
"Tolle Unterkunft in super Lage - wir hatten die Familiensuite und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, das Zimmer war sehr groß , liebevoll eingerichtet und hatte sogar Blink aufs Meer - der Check-In war super einfach und das Personal nett und hilfsbereit - wir haben nichts zu beanstanden und kommen gern wieder"
"Comfortable and clean . Friendly staff especially Becky and Liv.Evening meal superb ,apparently chef Dave on duty when we stayed. It would have been better if staff knew what soup of the day was before taking orders ,a small detail but probably more professional. About 9 stairs up to the room ,staff did offer to help with suitcases .Car park is up a small hill but there is a drop off area to unload your suitcases to avoid having to walk down with them. Would return if only for the food."

"Thoroughly recommend. Lovely rural part of Devon, the hotel is set in its own well maintained grounds, which is excellent for dog walking, our room was clean and comfortable, as was the breakfast and dining area which were both well set out, with plenty of space to accommodate dogs. Food was great, varied and plentiful. All staff were polite, efficient, and attentive, which helped to create a pleasant and chilled atmosphere."
"We really enjoyed our stay. We were walking the SWCP and were glad to stop earlier on this leg. (Just dont take the road to the lighthouse and then climb the scree over the hill: steep and dangerous). The room was excellent. Comfortable. Delicious dinner down stairs, and lucky for us on our night, a live singer providing a musical background atmosphere. She was lovely, and just the thing to elevate the evening to next level."
"Three things you need to run a great Bed and Breakfast. 1. A great host. 2. A great bed and room. 3. A great breakfast. This place has all three and is the perfect place for a short stay in Ilfracombe. Definitely recommended."
"A character historic pub in a nice rural location, although roads are very Devon and narrow in places! Very welcoming and friendly staff. Good food and service with a selection of beers with real ale under gravity from the cask. Very popular with diners on a Saturday night. Room reflected the nature of the property but was clean and comfy. Good selection and quality for breakfast. Went with trad English but kippers and salmon on offer."
