"Rooms were comfortable. Good beds and duvets. Wonderful view! Staff were very approachable and pleasant. The breakfasts were good apart from the last day when no hot breakfasts available. We enjoyed a very nice evening meal but were disappointed there was no hot drinks available afterwards. Not easy to park for larger vehicles."

"We really enjoyed our stay at the allerdale hotel in cockermouth, the room was very clean and comfortable, the location is excellent and the staff were very friendly, really enjoyed eating at blocks steak restaurant connected to the hotel."

"The hotel is under refurbishment. This is not reflected in the price nor mentioned when booking. Hotel is in poor condition and the accommodation was not clean. The bathroom had old flannels hanging from the shower curtain and a used bar of soap covered in hairs. I contacted the hotel about my concerns and they said because we had booked via Expedia that I should complain to them."

"I was confused by the reviews on this hotel as they swung from terrible to fantastic. I found the place perfect for my stay, while doing the coast to coast walk.
