"One of the best showers my dad has ever had during my his night stay to watch football. Very comfortable bed. Would’ve liked to have had a bottle of water in the room but otherwise it was everything he wanted for a night’s stay."
"The first thing that greeted us was the smell of stale curry in the reception area and corridors, the lift was broken that would have taken us to our floor (the top one of course) and there was an absolute maze of corridors to navigate to find out way to the room. Hotel is definitely not a 4 star as stated, I,d give it 2 at most. Glad I was only there for 1 night."
"Walking distance to the bay and town was really good, 10-15 minute flat walk. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The parking on site was a great help. Rooms were a good size, clean and nicely maintained. The toilet was very low! The lift was a problem as it would not go down to ground floor unless someone was on the ground floor wanting to go up."
"The room had bed bugs. The receptionist was extremely nice and helped us with a refund. The rooms are decent for a one to two night stay and looked clean. When we removed the sheets, they were stained with a brownish color and bed bugs starting crawling from the carpet. Nice staff but the amenities were not clean. They tried to accommodate us to another room but the other beds were also stained and had a humid smell."
"Room was clean and modern and good size for one person……wonderful location close to Cardiff castle and city centre….. beautiful big park close by…..excellent location with the National Express depot 5 minutes away for transfers to London airports or Swansea….
Pub itself and surround on the premises were run down and dated….. needed some money spent to tidy it up…."
"Had a really enjoyable stay here! The staff were friendly, welcoming and more than happy to help with any questions or issues we had.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a hiking trip, as it's ideally located for exploring nearby walking routes, including Pen y Fan.
The room was clean, comfortable and had everything I needed for my one-night stay. Overall, a great experience and I would happily stay here again."
"Disappointing. Last time we visited we had a power cut, this time we couldn’t use the bath due to plumbing issues. To cap it all breakfast was chaos. The hotel was busy due to an event, there was no filer coffee but staff left us waiting without information. No sausage, bacon, egg except one or 2 portions coming out piecemeal. No natural yogurt or fruit salad, toaster out of order. We are pretty patient but this was unnecessary if planning had been put in place.
