"Lavas Tacotal is such a gem. The grounds are unbelievably lush, and the volcano is just beyond. We saw toucans in the bordering jungle, and the flora was breathtaking. Breakfast is delicious and plentiful. My kids loved the pools. The room was clean and spacious, with housekeeping every day. Staff were friendly and helpful. The rain on the roof each night was the perfect white noise. My only complaint is the beds are small and very hard. The sheets were clean but stiff. Otherwise, it was a perfect stay."

"What a wonderful experience! We stayed in a deluxe bungalow that had full view of the Arenal Volcano. It was clean, the staff went above & beyond to assist with any questions we had with our room, tv etc... and it was very clean. It is rustic, cabin like feel for sure, not modern - however, it was what I expected with the amazing price we received. The only reason I gave 1 less star for the breakfast is because we had to choose a breakfast from 3 options. I didn't realize that my local cuisine breakfast I chose didn't come with toast so I asked for an order of toast and the kitchen staff charged me $4 USD for 2 pieces of toast. I thought that was asking a bit much for toast."
