"Excellent location and views. To benefit from the views you do have to access the top units via a number of steps. the door lock key on our unit was difficult to use to open the door."
"It was great that it was pet-friendly but the room was very cold given it was winter and there was only a small heater in there. Saying that, everything else was just fine."
"Excellent location. The host is awesome. Check in included a tour of the room, ammenities & an offer of help with our luggage. We went with the split level appartment which was great but you need to carry your bags up stairs. Location is close to the beach, shops & restaurants."
"This was a great location and fairly priced. The hosts go out of their way to provide extras like each towels. Public transportation to downtown Christchurch and airport is about 1 block away and runs every 15 minutes until late. There are lots of restaurants nearby along with grocery, pharmacy, and coffee shops. "
"Basic but nice. Friendly, helpful check in, showing us where all the amenities were on our way to our room. Everything was reasonably clean and tidy. We enjoyed the free access to the dining area to make a coffee and we enjoyed the continental breakfast. The chiller in the hotel was a bit noisy during the night turning on and off."
"Photos were a misrepresentation of the property. Property was run down and tired, arrived at property and was shocked, was shown around, but did not take bags in or check in, sort accommodation elsewhere. Contacted Expedia for refund, but host was not agreeable as I did not contact them directly. Did not get refund, I understand that room was held for us but there were spare rooms available so host did not have to turn anyone away. Really disappointed."
"The cottage was cozy and comfortable. An easy location to walk to town and when the weather was nice we could sit out front with our happy hour wine and snacks and have a view of the town and harbor. The house was well appointed. It is an historic house, so those who like modern amenities may not be as comfortable. We loved the eclectic decore and charm of the cottage and found it had everything we needed. Plenty of space to spread out and relax. There are lots of stairs, so if you have...
"Not quite what we expected .. lovely property, spotlessly clean, good location, good facilities e.g. fully equipped kitchen, nicely decorated
But small room and noisy doing the day. also more lodgings than B&B with the owner sharing the communal space
We paid for the two nights but stayed elsewhere
Probably absolutely fine for others but not quite right for use, our fault really as it was our last two nights in lovely NZ and so should have booked something more appropriate"
