"Be aware that the Victoria Cloisters apartments are in a totally separate building. This was not clear when booking with Expedia and we heard similar from other guests who had also expectes to stay in the hotel. Only because we paid £140 per night do we have the following complaints. The shower head was broken and did not stay in place, and the threat of being charged an extra £25 if we didn't wash up two glasses, one mug and a spoon, and throw away our tea bag in the bins outside, left a bad...

"Staff were really friendly and helpful. We stayed in the studio apartment, really nice and quiet. Ideal location to the York parkrun and if you like walking, 30 minutes walk to the centre. Definitely recommend 😊"

"Room was immaculate . £15 per night to park car at property I found this a bit pricey but parked there anyway . If you want an early check in it’s £25 which once again is very pricey but you can park up and leave your stuff if you don’t want to pay this . If anything the bathroom is on the small side. Bed was very comfy . Would use again"

"The inn certainly couldn't help the fact that York was experiencing record heat at the time we were staying. Unfortunately, the triple room is on the top floor, with no air conditioning (not usually necessary in the U.K.) and not much ventilation - and we were in it. If we had come in spring, autumn, or winter, the story would probably be different. As it was, it was near impossible to sleep in the heat, with very little relief from it. All that said, the hotel was clean and the staff helpful....

"Great apartment and location. We were at the front of the building on a Saturday night, so it was very loud until the early hours with people going to Mcdonalds (directly opposite) after their night out. This was ok for us but maybe not others."

"Friendly welcoming staff, varied menu and excellent food and atmosphere in the bar area. Good choice of breakfast and plenty of it. Clean and quiet room with a comfortable bed and small but adequate en-suite. We would stay again and would happily recommend it to others."
