Called and asked staff for wash cloths said they were being washed went to the front desk later in the day lady wrote down the room number said they would take some up later never seen them . View of the bay was great pool was nice."

"When we 1st arrived at 3:20, check in at 3, there was a sign on the door that read be back in 15, no problem, stood around waiting, after 30 minutes I went walking around the building, found a maid and an older gentleman folding towels, spoke very little English, extremely friendly, told them I was trying to check in, they said he went to store but they'd call manager, I went back up front, waited another 20 minutes before he showed up to check me in. Why is anyone leaving to go to store at...

"Please avoid this property at all costs. There were mouse droppings in the room. The cleaning staff did not clean the room when requested. The hotel does not ahve enough linen for all the rooms. Also the hotel does not have enough Towels as well. I came back to my room one afternoon and found that the hand towels were missing. The cleaning staff had come in and taken away all the hand towels, probably they were needed in another room. The Reception staff was very nice and polite, the breakfast...

"I’ve been to multiple third world countries and this is what I got. All in all rooms aren’t to bad but had a funny smell, but one look at the property and you would look elsewhere if you have your family with you."

"I was concerned about making a reservation due to other reviews, but we totally enjoyed our stay. It’s an older beach motel, and they are very difficult to maintain, so not everything was pristine. Salt spray is hard on buildings. However, the staff was very nice, our room and the common areas were clean, and the Chesapeake Bay is right there. We didn’t get to use the pool, but it looked clean and beautiful. I would absolutely stay here again."

I was looking for a cheap place to stay in Newport News, not overly concerned with quality because I expected to be away from the room most of the time - it was a poor decision. Summary of lowlights: Keycards refused to stay magnetized (have never had this issue anywhere else ever, and here I literally had to go to the front desk each time I had to return to the room. "The room had a smell as pets lived inside .Which when u went to the desk he stayed that’s the cleanest and so I need a smell good to hang up.I was kind of disappointed.But my mom used to be a housekeeper so she brought products and cleaned it up.We also paid for a queen size bed but we received full.But the best thing about this place was the pool it was nice and cleaned everyday and we had a wonderful time inside because the beach was super hot .I would rate this place 5/10"
