"Just needs a refresh in general a little tired .bathroom grout needs attention and the bedroom curtains had what looked like tea stains on , missing one bed side cabinet and the other had edging tape missing . For the money we paid I am not complaining, the bed and bedroom in general was loverly and clean ."

"Clean rooms with staff always available. Would stay again"

"Cute hotel, good location, modern, and nice to have the tavern attached for a drink and breakfast, but the double room was very small and with no closet, drawers or anywhere to put suitcases we had little floor space left. Too cramped for a couple but probably great for one person. Also it's loud if you have a room facing the square. I would stay again, but in a larger room at the back of the hotel."

"For value, comfort and service - I couldn’t fault our stay!"

"Great stay"

"What a cracking pub. What more do you want from a place to stay than have a legendary boozer right below you. The land lady was very friendly and polite, rooms were basic but clean and perfect for my needs. They do a cracking pint downstairs too. Staying again next week for work it was that good and the prices resonable."

"Father and son stopover after two days of hiking during a long drive home. The Wellington Hotel was exactly what we needed — easy check‑in, no fuss, clean rooms, comfortable beds, hot showers, and a genuinely tasty breakfast that set us up for the rest of the journey. Simple, welcoming, and spot‑on. Highly recommended."

"The best place to stay in Scunthorpe. Offers easy access and is very clean."

"Avoid this place! Rooms were dirty there was mould all over the bathroom couple of weed smokers were in other rooms and it smelled disgusting we didn’t even spend more than 20 minutes there and they didn’t give a refund. "

"Strange share house kind of arrangement. When we arrived someone seemed to be cooking in the kitchen which was very cluttered. The towels were oversized hand towels we found in the wardrobe. There were a pair of thongs under the small desk and a tshirt in the draw. The bed was very soft."

"Very easy to find. Lovely host Sarah. 2 friendly dogs, Frank n Nim. So relaxing, a small cosy Conversion which is Very clean. Pub/restaurant a short walk via the village. Other restaurants a short drive. "

"Property generally needs refurbishing, good cleaning and repairs. Its tired and very basic in contrast to adjoining pub. You pay for what you get. Suited for an overnight stay for a wedding but no longer. No service as such....but clean towels, fridge and kettle. Take your own milk and plan breakfast locally..10 minute drive to Retford. "

"Zoey was great!"

"A gorgeous little place with even lovelier owners. Nothing was too much trouble. Our dog loved it. Beds were lovely and comfy. Everything well equipped. In a great location - easy to find and easy access to York centre. Will definitely return when we visit York again."

"The place is a quaint little cottage very clean and tidy A few negatives are that the shower does not get hot. It is broken in some way and we didn’t notice until the Saturday morning and this was not likely to be fixed by the Monday at check out. I would have expected the cleaner to have noticed if the bath had been rinsed out prior to our visit. The second problem was there were two double rooms so I was expecting one of my older children to sleep on the sofa but there was no additional...
