"Yay! What incredible value for money! It isn't the Ritz, but the room was comfortable, clean, the water was hot and it was a bargain on one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. If you feel like being budget-conscious, but still want to go somewhere beautiful go here. We've got plenty of money, but what we saved on accomodation here - we got to spend of lots of daytime activities! After all, it's just a sleeping quarters! And you are able to go down to the pier and immerse yourself...

Extra bed in room for our family of 5 (2 adults & 3 children under 10). Also, amazing location to walk into town too! 5 minutes from the main plaza. it is next to a fabulous breakfast place (2 mins walk) - Ixchel Bacalar Downside - Coffee machine in room but no pods and poor WiFi connectivity. "

"Great location for sunrises and morning yoga, right next to the pier! The staff were extremely accommodating. The don’t take cards only Pesos so make sure you have enough pesos before arrival. It is very walkable to several places to eat and about 5 min walk to the center for souvenirs and ice cream. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and the shower was hot! They also have guest laundry if you need to wash some items. I’d give this place two thumbs up and highly recommend travels, backpackers...
