"Lovely place to stay in Rye"

"Advertised as a hotel (not Pontins) with an address that didn't match the booking one and lacking many of the basics you'd have in in anything resembling a hotel. One of the worst properties I've stayed in over 4 decades. A generally stand off ish and hostile undertone from the staffing on arrival, several serious defects and no warning about the bedding or towel shortfalls (unless you are one of their loyal customers who tolerate more than they should be expected to). "When we arrived we was told by Louis that he had problems with his kitchen so unsure whether we was going to have any food,but a little while later he managed to magically get two lovely meals together which were delicious.very friendly and welcoming."

"Basic caravan with no central heating only 2x oil heaters. Good shower. Direct communication required with owner, via referral from travel nest site, to arrange stay and extra fees. Caravan changed 10 hours before arrival due to boiler breakdown but original property was occupied. Only 5 beds when 6 berth had been booked. Extra charge for dogs. Extra charge for use of pool and entertainment. Frankie’s food van on seafront was excellent. "

"Stayed here for two nights in a bell tent as a cheap option to a hotel while visiting the area. We couldn’t have asked for anything more from a cheap campsite. The tent was lovely and the owners made sure it was still pitched despite 50mph winds!"
