"Great stay! Super helpful receptionist, awesome tourist map of the island pointing out all kinds of hot spots and important information. Shower overflows if you take too long though as it doesn’t drain quickly and the water spills out onto the floor…. Seems to be a consistent thing for all of Portugal though and it was the best feeling shower I had throughout all my trip. "

"Lovely hotel right next to the beach. Room was spacious and clean. Liked the fact that there was a communal kitchen with coffee and tea. There are a number of restaurants close by and the town centre is only a few minutes away "

"I liked how close the property was to downtown. I could walk to the local shops and restaurants. The only thing that I was not happy about was that I inquired as to why some of the tv channels wouldn’t work and the attendant told me she would have someone come and check on it and it was never resolved. "The Hotel Illa is a good budget place in Angra. The rooms were cleaned each day and a good basic breakfast is provided. It is right in the heart of the Old town and close to the Marina. The staff were great! The negatives: No parking, needs some maintenance (peeling paint, rough closing doors etc) Can also be noisy in the mornings with pigeons and sliding furniture and banging doors. Still a good choice if you are not looking a 5*"
