"The hotel was fine, the manager was a good man, but there should have been a fan atleast in the room, it was very warm at night, couldn't sleep. The hotel location is great and the environment was friendly."
"The place goes by a different name so went passed it at first (spikes lodge) the man that met us at the reception we nice enough gave us a quick run down of things to no.
.pros and cons.
Cons : they do not serve food here now which was not advertised , so turned up hungry and nothing to eat was told there was a pub down the road Queens head ,which was nice food and the portions are big.
The worst sleep I have ever had the bed was so hard (even the pillows ... All of them)I am still in pain ,...
"The property was absolutely fine as a base. Easily walkable to the shops and the seafront. The parking is not great around the area. There is pay and display parking nearby but on-street parking was limited. The host replied quickly to any messages I sent and was helpful.

"Lovely historic cottage, spotless well-appointed and comfortable room, friendly helpful owners, and delicious breakfast. Just mind your head on the low ceilings!"

Easy ramble to village store/cafe and two pubs."

The small touches like the thank you card, the candle, the decor, even the garden made it feel very homely. The host was amazing, she made me feel welcome, she showed me around and was very friendly. I had my privacy but she checked in to see if I was ok and to see if I needed anything which I thought was sweet. I loved my stay here and I will definitely come here again. If...
"Room was ok. Nice clean bathroom and shower was good.
Check in was terrible, it’s a self check in room and no codes were sent, i tried calling the host multiple times via phone and WhatsApp, no response.
I had to contact Hotels.com customer service and wait an hour to get a key-code to enter.
There was no WiFi, there were instructions on the wall but the router was not present, a neighbour had the same problem.
The TV only works on WIFI so no TV.
The location is handy being close to the train...
