The host was extremely warm and welcoming and showed the hospitality as one would expect from a traditional Ryokan passed down from decades old. "The staff were very friendly and could communicate in simple English as well as Mandarin. The hotel was also very clean and basic items were provided (shampoo, body soap, toothbrush). The only issue I had was not being able to control the temperature of the water for bathing (but I wasn't able to ask the staff for help as there are only staff at the concierge at specific timings). Overall still a great stay, especially because it is near to the beach and dining options (and supermarket)!"
