Amazing first stay at a Japanese Ryokan. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us and the rooms were cosy and clean. Also, the onsen was delightful. I recommend the restaurant on the premises where we had some of the best local food. Will definitely come here again!

We were so impressed by the kindness and flexibility during our stay. They accommodated an early check-in, had all of our luggage from our previous hotel waiting in our room, and even included thoughtful touches (handwritten welcome note). The hospitality was exceptional and made this one of our favorite travel experiences. Thank you for making us feel so welcome!

Property is in nice neighborhood, very close to bus stops/routes (<2 min), directly accessible from Kyoto station. Hotel is near several tourist locations and immediately walkable. Room size is decent with table, with washer but no dryer. Not a lot of drying rack/space though, and there is no external area to dry it outside. Not a lot of utensils/plates, but we made do. Electric locks for main door and room access was somewhat unexpected, not sure if this is the norm nowadays (haven't traveled...

Great place lots of room very clean

Very cute and great service everyone was so nice

This is a very beautiful hotel in Gion. We will finitely come back again.

Our stay at Tanakaya was a magical experience! We loved the charm of the room, the classic Japanese tub and having laundry in room was so helpful. The front office staff was great about any of our questions, provided Cold Brew in the AMs and even helped us arrange for our luggage to be shipped to our next destination. We didn't want to leave!

Inase is built within an old house, I believe. It’s very unique and fun to step back in time and experience Japan in a deeper way than modern ryokans. I highly recommend it and will certainly stay there again.

Our host was incredible and made for an unforgettable first-time trip to Japan.

Good

Perfect location

The Starr are super friendly and very accommodating and attentive. When I come back, I’ll most likely stay here again.

Amazing place to stay. Beautiful hotel. Truly surpassed all my expectations and very conveniently locates. Staff went out of their way to help with any questions I had. Highly recommend this hotel.

Great spot! You're right next to the train station (Keihan Line) which is perfect if you want to do a spontaneous Osaka Day Trip or get closer to the temples! The staff are very accommodating and helpful. The area has nearby food options (more local and less touristy).

This hotel was great. We enjoyed our stay very much. Initially we weren't sure about booking it because of the shared bathroom but the pictures looked really good in their website. We are really happy we stayed there. The common area is really nice, there is always people around and there are different choices for free tea (delicious) and coffee. You can make both tea and coffee yourself. The public bath is very clean and they have also choices for shampoo and conditioners of different good...

we love the area and the staff super friendly.. is also super convenient you have everything at a walking distance
