"Well placed hotel with friendly staff, just a bit old fashioned. Our double bed was quiet small and someone threw bread on the flat roof outside our window so we were disturbed by birds which was a shame. No issues with cleanliness, helpful staff and on site parking meant overall good value. "

"Overall it was fine for one night. We booked 2 rooms at same time both in name of Parkinson. Weird that we in opposite ends of the place! Breakfast food was fine but coffee dreadful. Would stay again but get breakfast elsewhere."

"Nice area, few minute walk to the train station which was great as I was alone and felt safe walking back at night. Room was very basic but clean and had everything I needed for the night. Staff were lovely and let me check in early on request. Car park out back was free but not a lot of spaces so it’s first come first served however I did see a car park nearby by you could pay for. Came for a concert in Cardiff which was perfect with the easy access via train and miles cheaper than Cardiff...

"My only comment would be around the shower. Whilst the shower was excellent the water comes out into the bathroom because the drain needs to raised to form a lip."

"Perfect accommodation for our needs. Two refurbed doubles were big and good with en suite. The twin room was small and bathroom not en suite, should be priced a lot cheaper. No facilities for breakfast in the morning although lidl a 4 min drive"

"Our lodge was amazing there was plenty of room for 4 adults and the lodge can accommodate 6 although only 4 people can sit at the dining table inside. The hot tub was ready for use when we arrived and self check in was easy. Amanda who came to check the hot tub was very friendly and helpful. Please note the lodge has underfloor heating so the wall heaters aren’t required and the hot water seems to be regulated from the thermostat in the kitchen. "This was a great site and a wonderful location. It’s big and spacious yet only shared with 6 other spaces. Our kids could run around and we didn’t need to worry about them. The modern and warm showers were lovely and it was nice having flushing toilets. The tents and kitchens were brilliantly equipped. The Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley are fantastic and this site is brilliantly placed to explore both of them. The village has a wonderful little shop that’s a real gem too if you need any...
