"Whem comparing hotels in the area, and other hotels in upper Michigan, this is an outstanding hotel. Clean, quiet, and friendly. Most northern Michigan hotels are very dated, and in rough around the edges. My wife and I enjoyed the stay, and would not only recommend, but book another stay."

"It was an older hotel that is renovated. It was very clean. They even came in while we were gone and made the bed and gave us clean towels. We had a view of the water which we didn’t expect. The breakfast was decent and free. Make sure you take your own shampoo and body wash. Overall for the price, it was a great choice for us. I would stay here again."

"My wife thought it was retro cute. Very clean. Staff was great. Its in a quiet location on the river. Riverwalk trail runs by it, you can easily walk to the beach. Beds were firm but comfy. Has a pool that looked good. Accepts dogs for a reasonable charge. "

"The motel was ok. There is no staff member on site most of the time, but they have a supply closet with extras. The rooms have been redone to a 1960s decor. They were ok, but could have been nicer. The beds are on the hard side, but the room was clean. They are still remodeling the outside, so it was still a bit rough. Overall an ok stay, especially with very few options in the area."

"We have stayed at The Inn at the Alpine before and it never disappoints. The property is like an old time Motel from the '60s. Everything is very clean and comfy. The family that operates the motel are very nice and helpfiul. By far the most affordable option in the area. Their dog, Pork Chop will always make you smile. Well worth the trip. We will be back again for sure."

"While this isn't a 5 star hotel, its clean, simple, and quiet. The owner is so friendly and welcoming. If I'm ever in the area again, I would stay here."

"The rooms are suites with eating area, wet bar, couch, fireplace and porch looking out on nature. Only 10 rooms in the lodge. There are many walking trails and you can circle the whole lake in less than 1.5 miles. Wonderful food and there is a small snack shop. Bring your own wine for dinner. Very very nice secluded spot. "

"The home is so beautifully decorated and homeowners are absolutely wonderful to work with. Our family has stayed here several times over the past years and are absolutely IN LOVE with the property. There is so much room to sprall out and not be under each others feet... (which is wonderful when you have multiple teenagers in your group!) Game tables, games, puzzles, outdoor games and a fun filled stocked bookcase of movies are perfect for down time. Home is situated on a peaceful outlet of...
