Top Independence Hotel Reviews
Trails Motel
8/10 Good
"We just returned from the John Muir Trail - 30 days - so we wanted showers - which were excellent. And laundry - they offer a washer ($3)/dryer ($2) and you can buy detergent along with a few other items. Very reasonable. The pool was surprisingly cold for the super-hot weather. It's a typical motel room - a bit dark after living outside for so long. Within walking distance of anything you might want. Had a leaky toilet, but the manager got on it right away."
Independence Courthouse Motel
8/10 Good
"We loved our stay. We stayed in the family room. It was clean and super comfortable. A few things needed some upgrading, but very minor and not even worth discussing. Microwave, refrigerator, and very very good air conditioning. And the room was clean. We will definitely stay here again! We were not the only Alpine start, so if you're looking to sleep in, it might get a little noisy in the early morning."
Historic Dow Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Awesome place, old and lots of history but clean!"
Mt Whitney Motel
8/10 Good
"The property is definitely dated. It’s perfect for a Hiker that doesn’t mind an old microwave and refrigerator and older furnishings. But I have to say, it is EXTREMELY clean and the beds are very comfortable so when you’re prepping or coming back from hiking Mount Whitney it is a wonderful respite. the staff is also super nice and has no problem coming out late to check me in with a friendly smile. There is also pressure in the showers thank God wish most hiking places don’t have. Would definitely recommend for any Hiker passing through. It is literally only 20 minutes to the portal."
Bristlecone Motel
10/10 Excellent
"Very nice staff! I came here to hike Big Pine Lakes and it was perfect."
Lone Pine Budget Inn
10/10 Excellent
"Everyone was really friendly and I LOVED that they have an ice machine! My favorite taco truck is around the corner… what more could I ever want? I have a lot of friends who hike Mount Whitney this time of year… if you want some exposure, let me know. 😉"
Mt Williamson Motel and Basecamp
10/10 Excellent
"Great, cozy place to stay. Delicious breakfast and a, wonderful staff."
