"Room was cold heating not working. Was a portable heater in room. Carpet was absolutely filthy. Chair was ripped. Bathroom was clean"

"Lovely staff upon arrival."

"(October 2026, on a Monday) At the time best price in 100(!) miles radius. En-suite enclosed parking included heating on as centre location lot of good amenities around....all surprise Not for wheelchair user."

"Family friendly and clean room"

"Amazing place. Highly suggest staying here."

"First impression on arrival, front of house could do with some maintenance (weeding). Suite 5*Tap in bathroom had soap marks and hair shavings. Pillows were too hard and mattress was uncomfortable, could feel the springs with every movement we made. Website said city view, but this wasn’t the case,(disappointed). On a positive note, service was good overall. Would stay there again if mattress was more comfy."

"Only advantage near railway Station and rental car"

"The property is in a mid terrace house in a dilapidated part of town. It is either an attic or loft conversion with creaking wooden floor boards. To access the property, there is a steep and narrow winding stair case . The bathroom is en-suite but there was no working shower . The radiator was on full heating all night making the room uncomfortably hot. There is a TV monitor placed on the table , not fixed. It is attached to Wi-Fi but no Wi-Fi code is provided for customer use. The staff...

"I go away with work most weeks and this has to be up there with one of the best places I have stayed in. Would love to come back in the summer. I’ve now booked up for my third successive week. The kitchen is perfect, plenty of work space and well laid out. Bit of confusion over the microwave until I realised it was built into the oven. Maybe do with a washing machine. Great surroundings and a great place to stay."

"It was ok but what I did not really like is that after booking, they took me to some where else. It was comfortable and nice. Also central area. Wasn't really a bad idea to stay there in the end. The people I met there were nice people "

"Not worth it "

"I really enjoyed our stay at the lodge and overall we had a very good experience. The inside was above our expectations. The rooms were newly refurbished, clean and comfortable, and the kitchen and dining areas were also really nicely done. The beds were comfortable and everything felt fresh and well looked after. The caretaker was extremely helpful and supportive throughout our stay, and we received really good customer service, which made us feel very welcome. There are just a couple of...

"The room is not well kept. No enough toilet rolls and bathroom liquid soap"

"Avoid this place. It is a room. Not an apartment. Rubbish piled up in the front and rear gardens. There are rats. Bathroom is shared, and is tiny, cannot swing a cat in it, but at least a cat would help with the rats. Kitchen is below bare minimum. 2 cups, 3 plates. Walls are thin, doors don’t work properly, but eventually lock with enough strength. The feel of the property is like it once housed squatters, and it feels like they will be back soon. Was due to stay for 2 nights, I didn’t/...

"It was faultless. Warm and clean and everything you need for a stay as close as you can get to Alton Towers. Space to park and leave your car. 2-3 minutes walk to the turnstiles at Alton towers. Highly recommend the place."
