"The whole place is really nice and next to the river .. The staff really helpful...Only the rooms need some maintenance....but enjoyed our stay."

"The hotel is incredibly close to the main attraction however it is very basic. it is clean and has decent food for purchase, shower pressure is 1/10 the sink has more flow. i used a cup to splash myself from the sink to the shower just to get the soap off my body. I did not dare to wash my hair. I ended up checking out early and driving to the city for a hot shower."

"Very nice place easy to find it and has a lot of transportation available tu tucs"

"This is a nice old hotel. Rooms were clean, staff was effective, the courtyard gardens were awesome. Breakfast was delicious. "

"The place is a little difficult to find but if you contact the host he can help to find it, it’s a beautiful place inside you have everything you can ask for, I’ll be back here with my family and friends, it’s beautiful to share with friends, the environment is great."

"Alles oud en smerig. Veel kabaal van buiten. Smerige stad."

"Bad"

"Great few days spent here! I recommend staying 2-3 nights... depending on when you arrive, because I highly recommend Semuc Champey and the bat caves (Grutas de Lanquin) which are hard to do in the same day. El Retiro made meals and excursions very worry-free. My only negatives would be the lack of hot water and the cleanliness of the bed, room. It wasn’t very dirty... just wasn’t very clean. Overall a very enjoyable few days spent in Lanquin."
