There are about 25 steps up a smelly staircase before getting to an old tiny elevator of sorts, that takes you to the next floor and reception. Then we had to climb an additional 25 plus stairs to our room. The staff did help with that. The room is very dated, the bedspread and thin and the threadbare blanket under it have done their time. ...

The arranged a clean room ready for early check in, no trouble and no extra charge! Don’t be put off by being so close to train station, I didn’t hear it. "The place was acceptable, nothing spectacular. Be prepared you may need to climb three floors. The location is good. The room size is OK. The front desk staff was courteous and helpful. Be also prepared to smell an intense sewer smell in the bathroom and deal with mosquitoes. The whole experience was not terrible but I wouldn't stay in this hotel again."

"The hotel was within walking distance from the train station and just minutes walk to the Duomo. It was very conveniently located for day trips and all the site-seeing we did in Florence. The staff were friendly and the room was large and clean. The breakfast, while limited in choices, was fresh and had all the basics that most would want and was replenished frequently. We were very happy with our stay. "
