"Very helpful friendly staff. Hotel very tired and basic. Bathroom heavily worn."

"The property is quaint/unusual. Not easily seen from the road if arriving in the dark. Provisions given in the room and the landing were excellent and fabulous location for Stansted airport. However, on opening the front door noted that the hall carpet was slightly worn and the room allocated had a shower in the room rather than the bathroom. Otherwise very comfortable stay and would book again, but request a room with a definite bathroom."

"Place stunk , hairs in bed , only received 1 night refund from Expedia , lesson learnt for me!"

"The bathroom had mold which had me sneezing. Historic doesn't have to mean unkept. Friendly enough but quality not quite there"

"Good value hotel and breakfast. Unfortunately close to the bypass with a very high proportion of çars and motorcycles with amplified exhausts."

Fortunately we got through to somebody by phone and were able to get into the room but they were not able to provide us anywhere to stay for the three adults we had booked and paid for. "The room was very clean, very comfortable, with quality fittings. Comfortable bed, quality bedlinen, soft towels, helpful host - highly recommended."

"Fantastic comfortable stay"

"The host made the check in easy and was responsive to all our questions and issues. The apartment, facilities and utensils were spotless and in great condition. For a stay in Chelmsford, the location is an easy walk or drive to any and all destinations."

"The peaceful location was wonderful. The room was well equipped and cosy for a fabulous stay. Damien was the perfect host who made sure everything was great for us. We have already recommended to family and friends. "

"Very convenient location for travel to Cambridge or London. Host very helpful."

"A beautiful little van, well equipped and with a sneaky little sea view, it has everything you need for a nice break. "
