"A cheap and cheerful night on the outskirts of Derby. The hotel is rather hidden away and not well signposted.
I checked in, room was clean with tea/coffee available.
The rooms are single storey, bungalow style
There is parking right outside of the rooms"
"Upon arrival to Splash Landings we went to the bar to order drinks. Over 10 minutes later we still had no drinks as the barman could not operate the till or simply pour a slushy.
When we had breakfast in the morning it took longer to find a clean plate than it did to get breakfast.
The beds were very hard and uncomfortable but we were only staying one night so we made do.
I always strip the beds after we stay over at hotels to help the domestic staff and I was utterly disgusted by the bedding...
"Although the hotel overall is in need of a lot of renovation, (new carpets, decorating, updating the bathroom etc), the bedsheets etc were clean as was the sink, toilet and shower. Unfortunately the television only received a handful of Freeview channels and on the 2nd morning the electric shower stopped working. The caretaker was extremely helpful and supportive throughout our stay, and we received really good customer service, which made us feel very welcome.
There are just a couple of...
"I could not gain access to the hotel. Also the phone number given by Hotels.com to contact the hotel did not work. Also hotel.com are refusing me a refund despite me arriving and being unable to gain entry."
"I turned up at the property just after 18:00 hours and there was no key to enter the property, no messages, no contact phone number, etc. As it was getting darker, and I was feeling less safe, I had to book another hotel, arrange Uber ride, and travel to another accommodation. I would like Hotels.com to investigate the matter, arrange a refund, and consider an appropriate sanction."
"Certainly not the best place to stay , some serious renovations needed , damp patches, server damp around windows, broken glass on window in bathroom .radiators need a good clean extreme build up of dust .also doors and behind toilet were filthy. Shower took forever to drain and black mould in shower. The room needs a realy good overall and not just a coat of bad paint job which it looks like they do.
Lampshades and curtains Al need replacing as very dusty and nets mouldy from damp around the...
