"We had a wonderful experience here! The staff went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful! The rooms all have large terraces that face the ocean providing wonderful sunsets. All meals are delivered to your table on your terrace and they make a lovely presentation. The rooms are large and clean. Shower is large with good water pressure. We stayed a week and used it as a base for excursions. The infinity pool is delightful and the gardens are beautiful. Beach is a 12 minute walk so we only...
"Our stay was extremely disappointing due to serious hygiene, food safety & service issues. We felt completely at the mercy of the staff rather than cared for as guests.
We repeatedly found insects in our food—ants, gnats, mosquitoes & beetle like bugs across multiple meals. I have a plethora of photo/video evidence. After sending dishes back the issue continued & staff denied responsibility. We eventually ate in the kitchen to inspect food immediately & still found insects in several dishes +...

"Getting to Zara is a slight trek, a taxi drops you to the nearby village and then it’s up to you to negotiate a 10 minute speed boat ride to the property on the mangroves. When we arrived Zara village had no guests except us, for the 4 days. Coordinating our excursions and travel was lovely Anatalie. She is a one-man-army, managing the resort and the staff, cooking the most delicious and well presented meals, sometimes surprising us with a special menu. She did the most amazing salads and...
