"For £94.50 a night this is a very basic hotel. Room and bed were large and clean, but very sparsely and cheaply furnished. There was a TV and 'fridge. Bathroom was very small, though clean. Amenities? I didn't notice any - no breakfast, no lounge or bar. The other clientele did not inspire one to expect a peaceful or indeed safe night's sleep; though in fairness I enjoyed quiet and restful nights. The hotel is well placed for Taunton station."

"Lovely stay breakfast was delicious and staff very attentive. Room was modern but had a few cosmetic issues such as tape on laminate flooring and a shower screen that didn't stop the water from pouring out. It didn’t affect our stay but from a glance minor repairs could be made. Would still happily book again as location and breakfast alone was well worth it "

"The rooms are beautifully decorated and the pub/hotel has a lovely oldie world feel to it. The surroundings were very peaceful. The service was also faultless - when we asked for a couple of things to be changed in the room it was done immediately. The Walnut Tree was excellent value for what we paid. "We never had a view, we looked out to the back of buildings,which was ok,we dont mind too much, the mattress was shocking, really saggy at the top end on 1 side, we ended up turning the mattress, as it felt like i was sleeping on a hill."
