"We decided to stay on Cormorant Island while doing a loop trip from Kamloops around the Discovery Heritage trail to Prince Rupert - ferry to p Port Hardy - then down Vancouver Island and back home through Vancouver. Alert Bay is unique with a rich cultural history. We did a hike - the tall tree hike and it was short but beautiful...as well as a beach walk on rhe north side of the island. "Alert Bay is on a small island. The facility is centrally located with a restaurant and is adjacent to the RCMP station, liquor and grocery store. The amenities are great for families and it also has a beautiful view of the ocean. The owners were very accommodating and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. "

"We checked in very late, and I was impressed that there was still a desk attendant there! They made sure that we knew the best place to park, the wifi password, and where are room was. There was a faint smell in our room that I suspect was from our last guests, and the main sink drained veeeeeeery slowly (almost not at all), but everything else was very comfortable.
