"It is a terrible place to stay, the only (small) window of the studio was just above a generator running 24/7, so the smoke of the exhaust pipe would enter the studio if we wanted to open the window for fresh air! Plus constant noise of the engine. They send like 10 automatic emails in a day but never reply to my messages about my request to change room, never offer for a partial reinsbursement. I left the second day (of a week stay) as it was impossible to stay in those conditions. The mattress...

"Stay in a working monastery! The buildings and extensive grounds are superb. The grounds and gardens are well tended, and make for an extremely pleasant stroll. The place oozes character and makes a memorable visit. All this on the outskirts of Huddersfield. The rooms are basic but clean. Breakfast is only "continental", offering cereals, muesli, yoghurt, plenty of fresh bread for toast and lots of strong filter coffee. The staff are friendly and welcoming."

"Wonderful, warm welcome. Room very comfortable. Few tweaks needed - drawers not easily accessible, hanging space a bit high. Wonderful shower - walk-in, such a treat as most hotels have showers inaccessible to anyone with any mobility issues. Surprisingly quiet even though on main road. Great for a couple of nights"
