"I don’t know where to start. The place has electronic access and more surveillance than most hotels. It is a lovely old loggia close to Firenze Sta Maria Novello and a 10 min walk from the heart of Florence. You can’t beat this place. Windows opening to the street. Great, clean shared facilities. Warning: rooms are great but modest. Do not expect MW or fridge. Otherwise they have all you need to visit this beautiful place."

"We stayed 2 nights @ the Hotel Bavaria. I don't think we had the best room but we were fairly comfortable. There is no A/C, a fan was supplied but unfortunately the one we had did not work well & did stop working. The fan was replaced but it was noisy. Wifi worked well, bed was comfortable, lots of hangers in the closet, and there was a safe & kettle. No TV. Our room had a sink & shower, toilet was down the hall. "The property is located centrally to visit most of the typical tourist sites in downtown Rome such as Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, the Coliseum, etc. Close to lots of dining options at various price points. We walked most everywhere, and took the Metro or a cab to a few places. Helpful staff, great breakfast provided in the morning. Elevator (small) to get bags to your room. Not handicap friendly, but our room had a nice bathroom and king bed. Will assist in reserving a cab to the airport or...

"Hotel Merlini is a beautiful and unique stay! My girlfriend and I stayed for 3 nights and loved our room, the rustic Tuscan decor and the family who run the hotel are so hospitable and friendly, we didn't want to leave! The location is so central in Florence, recommend very highly!"

After a long walk up several flights of rundown stairs, we were made to wait outside the hotel enterance until the owner turned up half an hour later. "The spot is absolutely beautiful, and so peaceful. Staying in a stone building amongst an olive tree orchard. Would highly recommend bringing a bottle of wine and some homemade charcuterie board food from the store, and having a wonderful time on the beautiful terrace. "
