"We spent 1 night on Vulcano in the really nice Pensione La Giara. It is conveniently situated on a relatively quiet street on a little over 5 min walk from the port, and on route to the path ascending to the vulcano. We were in two neighbouring bedrooms with shared bathroom for both rooms, which was perfect for our family of four. The owner on arrival advised on the trip up the vulcano and on nearby restaurants. "The property is prestine and just steps from the beach. The property host was excellent and easily accessible. Our family of 5 enjoyed our stay and found it safe, comfortable, and extremely easy to navigate to and from. "

"The person who was checking us in couldn't speak English at all, and we don't speak Italian. He demanded from us a city tax of 2eur/person and become very upset when we didn't want to pay it ( that's because according to email from Expedia it should be 1eur/person). We translated the email for him but, nevertheless, he was quite unpleasant towards us. Later in the day some other guy (with a bit of English) waved the payment off but the two of them treated us like an evil necessity till the end...
