"Clean room and comfortable bed with lots of pillows of varying firmness. Complimentary breakfast was good, well-stocked and nice assortment of breakfast options. Friendly and helpful staff. Will stay again!"

"There was an event Sunday night which was incredibly loud and lasted until almost midnight, making it impossible to relax/sleep. After it was over, there was an hour or so worth of noise from everyone getting in their cars and leaving. The television in the room didn’t work and when we asked about getting it fixed, we were told maintenance would come but they never did. The shower was barely big enough for a child. Also it was difficult to communicate with staff because most of them did not speak English."

"I had an overall pleasant stay at the Gateway Inn in Ashford, Washington. One of the biggest advantages of this property is its location—being right near the entrance to Mount Rainier National Park makes it incredibly convenient for anyone planning to explore the area. The surrounding scenery is beautiful and really adds to the experience. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. There were a few drawbacks, however. The room we stayed in had a noticeable slant to the floor, which was a little unusual and took some getting used to. The internet service was also spotty at times, although the hotel does disclose this ahead of time, so it wasn't entirely unexpected given the location. Additionally, there were no TV channels available during our stay, which may be disappointing for guests looking to relax indoors after a day of exploring. That said, if your main goal is to enjoy the natural beauty of Mount Rainier and stay close to the park entrance, Gateway Inn is a convenient option with friendly service and a great setting. Just be prepared for a few rustic quirks that come with staying in such a remote and scenic area."

"I’m bald, and there was HAIR all around my room, especially throughout BOTH beds, sheets and all! Do they even wash the bedding between stays? By the looks of it, NO. There was food or organic matter on the countertops and especially the night stands. I felt WE had to get out room cleaned before we could relax, so that’s what we did. The staff is SSSLLLLOOOOOWWWW!! Check-in took 20 minutes with only 1 person in front of us. Then late in the evening, I walked someone to their car, brought my room key, but not my phone. Apparently the key decided not to work anymore and I was locked out of the hotel with no way to reach anyone. Thankfully, one of the staff heard me trying to get in and let me in. It took an additional 10-15 minutes for the staff person to make me a new key. I was falling asleep at the counter. Room was nice enough despite the view of the bird poop, but there is MASSIVE work to be done with the staff. It was the worst I’ve seen probably ever…and we stay at hotels quite a bit."

"Where do I begin? The only good thing about this motel was the staff, and in our minimal interactions with the staff we saw that multiple people staying in the motel were calling about odd smells and pipe malfunctions. When we were going to the room we were given, we noticed that there was slanting on the second story walkway which was very concerning. When we entered the room, although it was a non smoking room, it smelled like cigarettes and marijuana. The floor was slanted and dipping, which combined with the drooping walkway and cracked stairs, was a bit unsafe seeming. When we turned on the lights, we discovered odd brown stains on the ceiling. They seemed to be haphazardly cleaned, and coupled with the odd smoke and weed smell in a non smoking room, I don't believe that our room was properly cleaned. Our stay here was subpar. To start it off, when I tried to use the sink it sprouted brown water at me and flung water in the air, seemingly because of bubbles in the pipes. The walls of the shower had holes and cracks, and the shower head looked grim. The beds seemed fine, but due to the general state of our room, I doubt they were actually clean. When i exited the room i was met with a pool that seems to never have been cleaned. There was trash and algae in both the pool and the hot tub, and i doubt they have been open in a year. Upon leaving the room, my mom was asked to sell a man cigarettes multiple times, and overall this just seems like an unsafe place for anyone."

"The swimming area was nice except that there was no staff rounding and there was a young group of men and women who were loud, drinking alcohol, vaping and had a boom box with non-family friendly music. It was off putting and looked as there was no security cameras on the pool. And the lack of towels in the swimming area."
